Asphalt Driveway, Concrete Pad & Interlocking Pavers - West Vancouver

Location

Ottawa Ave, West Vancouver, BC

Project Type

Complete Residential Driveway Transformation

Scope

Asphalt Driveway, Concrete Carport Pad, Drainage System, Interlocking Paver Pathway

The Challenge

This West Vancouver property needed more than just a new driveway. The existing carport concrete pad was deteriorating, the front entrance pathway had sunken and damaged sections, and the steep driveway slope created serious drainage concerns that threatened to flood the property during heavy rainfall.

The homeowners needed a comprehensive solution that addressed all three issues while working with the property’s challenging terrain and compound curves.

Our Multi-Phase Solution

Concrete Carport Pad Replacement

We removed the old deteriorating concrete pad and built a new rebar-reinforced parking pad with proper vapor barrier protection. This foundation work was essential before tackling the driveway itself.

Advanced Drainage System Installation

We installed a custom drainage trough with a removable grate and an 18" × 24" catch basin to manage heavy rainwater, prevent flooding, and allow easy maintenance and cleanout.

Asphalt Driveway Installation

The driveway’s complex slopes and curves required hand-applied asphalt and our smallest vibrating roller, ensuring smooth transitions, precise grading, and proper water flow throughout.

Interlocking Paver Entrance Pathway

We replaced the sunken front entrance path with a beautiful new walkway constructed from interlocking paving bricks, adding both functionality and curb appeal to the home’s entrance.

The Transformation: Step by Step

Excavation and Removal

Out with the old—complete removal of deteriorated concrete and damaged surfaces prepared the site for comprehensive reconstruction.

Concrete Pad Construction

Framing, rebar reinforcement, and poly vapor barrier installation created a solid foundation for the new carport parking pad.

Interlocking Pavers Installation

The front entrance pathway took shape with carefully laid interlocking pavers and decorative borders.

Base Preparation

Proper grading and compaction of the granular base—the foundation that determines how long your driveway will last.

Hand-Applied Asphalt

Due to intricate slopes and curves, asphalt was manually carried, placed, and spread by our experienced crew, as machinery was impractical.

Precision Compaction

Our smallest roller carefully compacted the asphalt while maintaining the smooth transitions and proper drainage slopes this challenging driveway required.
